We are seeking candidates who possess a Ph.D. degree and hold preceding degrees (bachelor’s and/or master’s) with a first-class or equivalent qualification in areas such as Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or any branch of Engineering. In particular, we are interested in candidates with research expertise in the fields of Data Sciences, Artificial Intelligence.
Visiting faculty applicants can include academicians with significant teaching and research experience, senior industry professionals who are enthusiastic about teaching, retired faculty members, or those currently on sabbatical leave. Selected candidates will receive a consolidated pay of US$ 2500 per month, along with basic health coverage and return airfare (economy class).
The early career fellowship provides a unique opportunity to actively contribute to institution-building and shape a long-term career in academia. Initially, the fellowship will be for three years, with the possibility of extension up to five years based on fellows’ performance. Fellows are expected to engage in high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as institution-building activities, while pursuing their own research interests at IIT Madras Zanzibar Campus. Selected fellows will receive a consolidated salary of US$ 2,500 per month, along with basic health coverage. Additionally, they will receive a one-time relocation allowance and an attractive professional development allowance for travel to conferences, membership in professional societies, and support for other research activities. To foster overall growth, fellows will have the opportunity for short research sojourns of up to six months at an institute of their choice during their tenure.
Note: The institute will shortlist candidates for an interview based on their academic qualifications, tangible research output, teaching and research experience, and the immediate requirements of the newly established campus. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee automatic selection for an interview. The final decision regarding the selection process rests with IIT Madras.
